Give every basket one purpose.
Start with the real routine
Use separate baskets for laundry, current toys, burp cloths, diaper supplies, or items that need to leave the room. Mixed baskets look tidy but often hide decisions that still need to be made.
Keep the system safe and simple
Keep baskets small enough that they cannot swallow weeks of clutter. If a basket is always overflowing, change the system or reduce what belongs there.
Make it easy to reset
Empty catch-all baskets during a weekly reset. Tidy should mean findable, not hidden.
